Chef Stephen Williams showed up on Cincinnati’s foodie scene in 2005 when he helped a friend open the restaurant Otto’s. Although he grew up watching his grandmothers cook, it was here in Cincinnati that he discovered his passion for cooking and the culinary world. He decided to further his post-secondary education at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. As he worked through his studies, he also worked at a variety of restaurants, constantly learning new techniques and methods of cooking. His passion and hard work would eventually pay off.
In 2007, Williams opened Bouquet. In the 11 years it’s been open, Bouquet has won numerous awards and accolades. Among them was a spot on Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Ten Restaurants. Bouquet also won Best Restaurant in Kentucky from Business Insider. Patrons and food critics alike have swooned over Bouquet’s Southern-inspired pork dishes, like the Indiana Pasteurized Pork. For a sweet treat, the peanut butter pie is a crowd favourite. To take your palette on an adventure, try one of over 40 wine blends, or over 60 types of bourbon.
Williams has been an active supporter of many Cincinnati charities, such as the SIDS Foundation, Midwest Culinary Institute’s scholarship program, and Freestore Foodbank. His dedication to the community has been ongoing and appreciated.
Bouquet has stood out among the number of great restaurants in Cincinnati. Their take on farm-to-table meals has embraced farms in the area and encouraged supporting local business. William’s focus on sustainable farming has earned him respect and excitement from Cincinnati natives. Sourcing from over 50 local farms, Bouquet has a constantly evolving menu focusing on seasonal produce and new ingredients William’s finds interesting.
